Ooh, how exciting for you! Projects!
Allow me to preface the following by saying that I am easily distracted* and ergo rarely complete my goals. Failures include flossing daily, completing a serenade to ice cream sandwiches, and cleaning things. Some of my projects, like learning to play “Take On Me” on the ukulele, have come to fruition. It’s all about the pressure of performance, I think. When I know that someone else will be looking over my shoulder I am much more likely to get things done. If it’s just God and me, well, He loves me whether or not I’ve organized of my teaching materials.
This is a new blog and I’m not sure yet what all I’m doing with it (Japan and travel? Jewelry? Home and decorating? Deep thoughts and balderdash?). [cue music] Sooooo journey along with me through the land of productivity and let’s keep me on traaaaaaack!
Japan and Travel
- Find a time to go to Beijing. I ruined the trip planned for August by being poor, so I need to make up for it at some point.
- Visit Shikoku or Kyushu, or both
- Spend a weekend in Seoul
Figure out if I can go to Mongolia before I leave Japan. I want to ride a camel for real, or ride a horse over the steppes, to sleep in a ger, to touch a yak, and to not be pick-pocketed because I will be very careful. Not gonna happen.
Jewelry

Home and Decorating
- Get rid of
old carpet, clothes hanger, andgiant plastic boxthat are cluttering up my home - Sell a ceiling fan (a failed project in itself) to the recycle shop
- Finish my Fruits of the Spirit mural.
- Create a better workspace
- Easy access to jewelry supplies
- Fewer cords running around
- A book shelving system that makes sense [to me]
Create a habit of exercising and eating nutritious foods, by which I mean I don’t want to buy any more pants ergo I need to fit into the ones I own.I joined a gym and I go at least two or three times per week. That’s quite enough, thank you.- Learn to play the Hallelujah Chorus on the ukulele for purposes of hilarious Skype serenades.
Save up for an Olympus Pen E-PL1 and use it for the good of mankind.
This Dang Site
- Write up my trip to Vietnam
- Make a media page for my goofy dancing videos and Craigslist Missed Connections
- Find actors for Pistachio Thief II and make that movie
- Find someone with a video camera and tripod
- Earn camera owner’s trust and borrow items
- Get cracking on that backlog of Craigslist Missed Connections
- Figure out how to integrate my Flickr account into a side widget
Import the I Japan Go blog and Angers Effect blog to this siteDone. Click on the tabs. A’clicky click click.- Illustrate my studies for the Japanese Language Proficiency Test and figure out how to put them on this site.
I have so many more goals, but this is quite enough with which to begin. The fun part about this website is being able to track my goals through posts and pictures. Perhaps some of my pursuit of excellence will encourage you, or at least make you laugh. As a friend of mine would say, “Let’s going together with me!”
*At the end of my senior high school year, my mother told me, “You know, I always thought you had ADD.” When I replied with some now-you-tell-me sass, Mom added, “Well, I never wanted to put you on medicine because it can make you bipolar.” All right then, thanks.
