Custom Jewelry

Bead, monkey, bead! Thus far my custom work has been word of mouth; “I want you to make me something.” The pieces that I make on command don’t always end up on Etsy, so this is my custom work portfolio.

Beaded Fringe Necklace

A beaded fringe necklace for my jewelry muse and sometime model based on this necklace sold at Le Train Blue:

Infinity Necklaces

About four years ago I made a necklace based on my cousin’s fantastic A Thousand Shark’s Teeth album. It was sixty inches of chain with beaded pendants hung thirty inches apart that one could loop over one’s head. One of the pendants was clear crackled glass to contrast with the black feather I attached to the other end. I lent the necklace to Margaret over one weekend when she didn’t have anything neutral to go with a couple of her outfits. Double-length chain for Margaret, based on one I had made for myself. The goal was to maintain the idea of a black feather without using one, and to keep the cost under $25. Goals achieved, I say.

Nella requested two necklaces. She had two requirements: that they be the same length and shape as the Faux Feather Infinity Necklace for Margaret and that they be neutral colors. The rest was up to me.

These were the first and last of four Infinity necklace options I made. I deconstructed a bracelet to make the lampwork cluster on one end. For the necklace below I opted to use wood-based neutrals, something I don’t do very often. The wooden beads were wire-wrapped carefully over the course of a few episodes of Misfits. I like that they resemble a pine cone. The only downside to these necklaces is that such a fine chain tangles easily during storage. Wearing them is just dandy.
